When you set the resolution, be sure to check the refresh rate to 60 Hz as that seems to be the stumbling block for the Acer. Acer monitor al1916w conected to a acer aspire with 32 bit windows 7 operating system / i tried what you said but when i tried to boot it in safe mode with prompts it wouldn't load and went back to floating input not supported message.
It's weird that a friend of mine experienced this, as Safe Mode has the lowest settings of the native Windows display drivers running. But it happened, and that was the fix.

Hi. I'm trying to boot into safe mode (Vista 32-Bit, Acer P193W LCD monitor) and I'm getting the input not supported error.
I've tried my Samsung T220HD 22″ LCD display and an ancient Belinea 17″ CRT… none of which will work.
Are there any other solutions avaliable to this problem? I need to boot into safe mode to properly execute smitfraudfix as my PC has been hijcaked and is loaded with Spyware… yay!

Whenever I switch on my Pc and the password screen goes up, I enter my password and as soon as I hit enter, I get a message on screen saying 'User Profile failed to logon'. Now that's not exactly the problem, I've read on the internet that to fix it you have to boot in safe mode, the problem is that whenever I hit F8, go into safe mode it just says 'Input Not Supported', the screen is an Acer P206HL LCD, I also tried a CTR screen but safe mode keeps saying Input not Supported, do you have an Idea what I can do ? it's been a week already and I can't seem to have a clue
